Kandy to Ella Weekend Train Service.

On Saturdays and Sundays, this luxury train used to operate and provides five numbers of fully A/C compartments.
Leaving from Kandy: 07.40 a.m. Arrival at Ella: 13.28 p.m.
From Ella: 14.45 p.m. arrival in Kandy at 20.05 pm,
Train's Number: 1033 and Number 1034 between Kandy and Colombo Fort on Saturdays and Sundays is back in operation from August 2019. Train tickets can be reserved via mobile phones and from Kandy and Ella railway Stations.

Kandy to Ella.

Even if you don't have enough time to spend in Sri Lanka, at least plan and take the Kandy to Ella to Mirissa trip. From the Colombo airport catch a taxi and land in Kandy. Go around Kandy as per your plan one or two days. From Ella you can catch a public bus or can hire a private car to reach this beach. Some tourists hire Tuk Tuk for fun ride up to Mirissa beach. If you are catching public bus, go up to Tissa (Thissamaharama) and then from their catch a bus that is going up to Mirissa. Ella to Mirissa is around 200 Km.
